CoreOS Fest Berlin and San Francisco: Join us this May

There are only six short weeks until CoreOS Fest kicks off in Berlin and San Francisco on May 9. At each event there will be great talks about open source distributed systems technologies like Kubernetes, CoreOS Linux, etcd, systemd, Raft, rkt, Helm, dex, Clair and more. There will be discussions about the open source components themselves, tools and use cases all to help you achieve what we like to call #GIFEE —Google Infrastructure For Everyone Else.
The main event in Berlin
CoreOS Fest Berlin is a two day event happening May 9 and 10 at the bcc. CoreOS Fest 16 features talks and discussions with notable thinkers in container technologies and open source distributed systems such as Greg Kroah-Hartman, fellow at the Linux Foundation, Lennart Poettering, creator of systemd, Diego Ongaro, creator of Raft, Gabriel Monroy, creator of Deis, and more. You’ll hear from some of the sharpest minds in this burgeoning space.
In addition, some of your favorite CoreOS friends will be on site to present talks about the future of #GIFEE and the realities of designing infrastructure at massive scale. Alex Polvi, CEO of CoreOS, Brandon Philips, CTO of CoreOS, Brian “Redbeard” Harrington, head of infrastructure at CoreOS, and Matthew Garrett, principal security software engineer at CoreOS, will all be on hand to answer your questions.
We’ll also hear a first hand account from Simon Lallemand of BlaBlaCar of how BlaBlaCar is using rkt in their production deployments, and we’ll learn more from Victor Hu from Huawei about using Kubernetes to deploy telecom applications, as well as have Hitoshi Mitake from NTT Technologies tell the story of how they debug distributed systems . This year’s CoreOS Fest features multi-track content, with tracks focused on Kubernetes, CoreOS, and systems security. The current schedule reflects these great speakers and more. Minor scheduling changes may occur as we get closer to the event.

The satellite event in San Francisco
A special one day SF event happens on May 9 at 111 Minna. We will kick off the day with breakfast and the streamed keynotes from Berlin, and then dive into open source distributed systems discussions providing insight into accelerating development with containers, architecting for security, and more. There will be compelling talks from speakers such as Russell Haering, CTO of ScaleFT, Loris Degioanni, CEO of Sysdig, Oliver Gould, CTO of Buoyant, Kevin Jones, engineer of NGINX and more. In addition, Alex Crawford, lead of the CoreOS Linux project, Quentin Machu, lead of the Clair project developed by CoreOS, Josh Wood, DocOps at CoreOS, and Rob Szumski, design lead at CoreOS, will be on site with many other CoreOS staffers and friends to answer your questions about the latest in CoreOS open source technologies.
