Last Monday Docker 1.0 was announced at DockerCon, and shortly after Docker 1.0 was made available in the CoreOS alpha channel.

A fundamental building block of CoreOS is the use of Linux containers, where your applications and code run. A natural choice for Linux containers was Docker due to their expansive ecosystem. The Docker engine is installed on each CoreOS machine.
If you want to try out Docker, you can package each component of your application inside of a container (web server, caching, database) and then schedule them to a cluster with fleet. Distributed configuration and locking become trivial additions by connecting all of your components together with etcd.
