Europe events

Women Who Go @ CoreOS GmbH: March 9, Berlin, Germany
The CoreOS Berlin office will host the Berlin Women Who Go meetup for a Go study session on March 9 at 7:00 p.m. Join us for an evening of Go, with an introductory session, a CoreOS presentation on Go, and your regularly scheduled Go study group.

KubeCon + Cloud Native Con Europe

Tuesday, March 28:

At the OpenShift Commons gathering, Brandon Philips (@BrandonPhilips), CTO at CoreOS, joins a panel to discuss upstream Kubernetes.
Join the pre-conference End-User keynote panel at 6:20 p.m. to learn about companies using cloud-native technologies. Ticketmaster and others are expected to join.

Wednesday, March 29:

At 2:25 p.m., Jess Frazelle, software engineer at Google, and Brandon Philips (@BrandonPhilips), CTO at CoreOS, will go through the security release process they put together to minimize exposure to exploits. Join them in room A 03 to Dance madly on the lip of a volcano.
Fabian Reinartz, software engineer at CoreOS and a maintainer of the Prometheus project, will give a talk on Alerting in cloud native environments. His talk on separating the signal from the noise begins at 2:25 p.m. in room A 06.
For a technical introduction to Kubernetes Operators, join Josh Wood, DocOps at CoreOS, for a talk on managing complex software with software. He’ll be in B 05-B 06 starting at 4:10 p.m.
At 5:15 p.m., Philips will deliver a keynote on Tectonic: Kubernetes, and then some. Get a quick look at an enterprise-grade Kubernetes distribution in room C 01.

Thursday, March 30:

On day 2, Philips shares the best practices for keeping a Kubernetes cluster running long term, addressing the various components needed to do so. His tutorial takes place at 12:15 p.m. in room B 05-B 06.
Excited about Operators, but don’t see one in the works yet for your favorite project? Aaron Levy, senior software engineer at CoreOS, describes what it takes to write a custom controller in room A 03 at 2:00 p.m.
If you’re wondering about how to set up some monitoring tools to keep track of your applications running on Kubernetes, Alexandru Somesan & Frederic Branczyk, software engineers at CoreOS, will lead a workshop on setting up and running Prometheus. They’ll learn how to reliably deploy Prometheus on Kubernetes, monitor their own applications, and make use of collected metrics to set up alarms and dashboards to suit their needs. Join them in room C 04 at 2:45 p.m.

LA Cloud Native Computing Meetup @ Ticketmaster: March 1, Los Angeles, California
Justin Dean, SVP, Platform and Technical Operations at Ticketmaster hosts CoreOS CEO Alex Polvi (@polvi) and the Los Angeles Cloud Native Computing Meetup. They’ll discuss why CoreOS and Ticketmaster are betting on Kubernetes, and what we’re gaining from partnership. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., don’t forget to bring your ticket for parking validation!
